G-Dragon and Lee Seung Gi have no doubt been enjoying seemingly undying popularity these days. From G-Dragon's chart topping hit "Heartbreaker" to Lee Seung Gi's "Let's Break Up" gripping tightly over the number 1 position, September has been filled with endless champagne popping moments for the two.
Well, that's great for them, but the other artists who have happened to release their albums during the same time are not as ecstatic. On the recent episode of SBS's Strong Heart, veterans such as Brian from FTTS, Tablo of Epik High, MC Mong and Kim Tae Woo all voiced their complaints of having to release their albums around the same time as G-Dragon and Lee Seung Gi. It's all in good fun, and it's actually hilarious to hear about some of the things they had to do to avoid competing with these two's dominating popularity.
Seems like the Korean ladies just cannot have enough of the 'Lee Seung Gi effect'. After capturing high ratings for variety show, 1N2D and drama Shining Inheritance, singer/actor Lee Seung Gi proves that he is also a big draw this past Chuseok.
Despite the influx of girls groups and others, they proved to be no match for the crown prince who is known to have a huge fanbase from young children to older folks and it's perhaps no surprise that the 'Lee Seung Gi effect' has now taken over the Chuseok Specials.
After a compliation of ratings for Chuseok special programs from 1 - 4th October from data provided by AGB Nielsen, the No.1 top rated program with the highest rating went to KBS2TV's Lee Seung Gi's Ideal Girl World Cup where Seung Gi had to pick his ideal girl in a round of 32 knockout competition. 15.8% of the Korean population tuned in to watch Lee Seung Gi pick out SNSD's Yoona in the end as his ideal girl.
Other programs that were in the top 10 include KBS1TV's Open Concert in Shenyang (15.6%), MBC's Star Dance Battle (12.0%), SBS's 2009 Young Face (11.8%), KBS2TV's Shall We Dance (11.2%), MBC's Change The World (11.3%), MBC's Sweet Girl (9.5%), MBC's Come To Play (9.3%), KBS2TV's Happy Together (9.3%) and MBC's Announcers Special (9.2%).

As seen from above, 4 KBS programs and 5 MBC programs were in the top 10 while SBS only had one single entry on the top 10, and it wasn't even their highly anticipated Idol Big Show (8.8%) which was ranked outside of the top 10. Lee Seung Gi has successfully finished his MC initiation with the cheers of SNSD's Yoona, who also happens to be his ideal girl.
Congratulations to MC Lee Seung Gi, who made his first debut on SBS's Kang Shim Jang! It was reported that, despite it being his first filming of a show as an official MC, he did a pretty darn good job! His mc-ing went so smoothly that he received praise from the guests, his MC partner Kang Ho Dong, and even the staff.
Having a similar relationship to that of brothers (thanks to 1N2D), Kang Ho Dong was full of praises to his younger "brother" Seung Gi. Throughout the show, Kang Ho Dong was constantly complimenting, "You're very good Lee Seung Gi!" in order to ease his tensions.
Knowing that she was Lee Seung Gi's ideal girl, to ease his tensions as well, she stated, "Be more successful than Kang Ho Dong and become the #1 MC." That comment must have ignited a will in him to overcome and succeed his older "brother Ho Dong.
During a special recording for the Chuseok holiday on KBS 2TV 'Lee Seung Gi's Ideal World Cup', Lee Seung Gi revealed his heartbroken feelings in a surprising confession to his sunbae Baek Ji Young.
The singer-actor expressed that he felt jealous and sad that she chose 2PM's TaecYeon as the featured artist in "My Ear's Candy", a song which has been receiving much love from the public.
The heart throb of young teenage girls and their mothers admitted to Baek Ji Young, "If you contacted me, I would have done the duet song with you", sending her into a state of shock.
"I have watched her since her debut," he added, revealing that he had always been a fan of Baek Ji Young. "Although she may seem like an impassive person, I think she is the type to become compassionate in front of love."

Seeing as how TaecYeon and Baek Ji Young get so intimate with each other on stage (damn you, woman!), one can't help but sympathize with Lee Seung Gi and feel a crapload tad bit envious of the two.
However, I find it difficult to imagine the actor from "Shining Inheritance" replacing TaecYeon and his intoxicating, deep voice, but what do you guys think? Would he have made a good substitue for the beastly idol from 2PM? Source: allkpop
Yuri, Seohyun, and Lee Seung Gi were among the many guests on today's episode of KBS Champagne. Lee Seung Gi was the one chosen for playing the hit game, Ideal Type World Cup where the players picks their ideal type out of a pair until he/she ends up with one person that is closest to their ideal type.
When Yuri and Seohyun came up against each other they both showed their best talent in front of Lee Seung Gi so they could win his heart. Yuri performed her rendition of Jennifer Lopez's Get Right for the second time after she did it on Music Core. And Seohyun sang "Beautiful Girl" which she sang with her fellow members on the show Music Travel LaLaLa.
For a guy, it definitely would be hard choosing one out of the two. Curious about who Lee Seung Gi went with? I sure was.

We left someone out of the amazing Idol Big Show line up and that is Lee Seung Gi! The ballad singer who returned with a new album recently is going to be one of the performers at the Idol Big Show.
But here's the real exciting thing to look forward to: He will show his dance moves! We get to always see him perform slow songs, always. He does not dance and this is our chance to finally see him move to the beat! He will also perform a song on his 4th album, "Love is..." G-Dragon will perform "Hello" with Dara and Big Bang will make an appearance. 2NE1 will perform a different version of Fire as well as "Let's Go Party". After School will transform into the Pussycat Dolls and sing "Buttons" as well as perform other girl groups' dances such as Brown Eyed Girls' Saucy Hip Swaying move. The girl groups that are present will have a dance battle where Yuri, SooYoung, and HyoYeon of Girls' Generation will flaunt their powerful dance moves, Kara will show a dance sexier than their Butt Dance, and 4minute will perform a dance with no shoes and miniskirts. Recently MC Mong and Lee Seung Gi, who are both from real variety show "1 Night 2 Days", was cast in KBS "Happy Together".
In the show, MC Mong made everyone curious, stating that all "1 Day 2 Night" members are Lee Seung Gi's manager. It was then revealed that they are not really his "managers" but was called a "manager" because they care for every single thing Lee Seung Gi does.
Why? Well, MC Mong was worried that if Lee Seung Gi's image gets damaged, it would have an effect to the popularity of "1 Night 2 Days". So MC Mong, Kang Ho Dong, and the rest of the members is said to have always taken care of him, such as making sure that he wears clean clothes during their filming.
He also made everyone curious when he expressed that he disagrees to Lee Seung Gi dating. He commented that in order for Lee Seung Gi to date, he has to get permission from the "1 Night 2 Days" members. MC Mong said that he currently still has a long way to go, and a date is a big "no" right now.
To this, Lee Seung Gi added a comment, saying that the scoldings done by the members is worse than a mother would do, which caused a burst of laughters.
It's good to see that Lee Seung Gi has some brothers who would care for him... maybe a bit too much.
This coming Chuseok is a Korean holiday that lasts for three days in which most people return to their hometown to pay respect to the spirits of their ancestors. Although to most youths, returning to their hometown sounds about as much fun as watching grass grow. However the music site Monkey3 held a poll from the 24th to the 28th that gave suggestions on how to spice up the trip back home.
Monkey3 put up a poll titled "The Idol You Want to Visit Your Hometown With" on their website, and SNSD's Taeyeon came in first with a whopping 45% of the votes. Lee Seungi came in second with 15%, SS501's Kim Hyun Joong followed with 13%, Big Bang's Daesung came in third with 11% with Sandara Park and f(x)'s Sulli rounded out fifth and sixth place.

On the Chuseok Special Idol Big Show, SNSD dressed up with bunny ear headbands as well as an adorable costume and gave a whole new feel to the song "Gee". They also revealed their practice room. They are performing their debut song, "Into the New World", specially for this show, so they practiced in their training suits and practiced their routines until they were covered in sweat.
The girls talked about their experiences around the time they debuted as they rehearsed the dance they did 2 years ago. What it was like being on stage for the first time, their nervousness, and funny stories were among the things they revealed on the show.
After School will transform themselves into the Pussycat Dolls. After School is known for being the Korean Pussycat Dolls and even opened for the group when they came to Korea. Now they will share a sexy stage impersonating them. They will sing and dance to the song "Buttons." This performance will even involve some chair dancing! I think we already know After School will take the song to a new level. They will be joined by other artists such as G-Dragon, 2NE1, Kara, SHINee, Lee Seung Gi, 4minute, and etc.

SBS has invited the best idols for their Idol Big Show Chuseok Special which includes G-Dragon, SNSD, 2NE1, Kara, SHINee, Lee Seung Gi, 4minute and 2AM.
The idols will be putting on a dazzling display of song performances and varied joint special stages. Besides that, footage of the idols' dormitory life, rehearsal/training, dorking around backstage during Inkigayo, etc will also be shown. There will also be an unique interview segment where the idols will throw questions at each other.

On the "Ideal Type World Cup" segment of KBS2TV's variety show, "Champagne" shown on 22nd September, Lee Seung Gi stated firmly that his ideal girl is SNSD's Yoona without any hesitation.
