5 member boy group F.T. Island will be having a national tour and the tour will be titled, "Men's Stories". F.T. Island has recently released their 3rd album titled, "Cross & Change". Their hit single from the album, "I Hope" has been very well received by their fans and the five members are planning on showing their life behind the stage along with their strong visuals and sound on a more personal level for the fans.
The national tour will start on November 14, 2009 in Seoul.
In other related F.T. Island news, their latest Japanese music video has been released. The music video is titled, "Raining." Check it out:
We already told you that Hongki of F.T. Island was going to continue promotions with the band despite his hectic schedule and a sub-group was forming, but we're now glad to announce that F.T. Island will be releasing their 3rd single in Japan titled, "Raining".
The short teaser was released yesterday, giving Primadonnas a taste of their new single and a whole lot of eye candy. Besides Hongki's incredible vocals, the track reminded me of the band's debut album, Cheerful Sensibility. "Barae" was on repeat for me but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who was missing F.T. Island's rock ballads. The 5-member band previously released two singles in Japan (one including an English track), but this new single appears to be a lot more promising. The single is set to be released on October 21st. If you can't wait that long just keep hitting that replay button.

The KBS Chuseok festival, Star's Sketch Dream that aired today was a knock out show that included big stars such as, F.T.Island, 4minute, Kim Jong Suh, Bada, ChaeYeon, Koyote, Ju Jin, Lee Min Woo, Tin.Tin.Five, Namolla Family, Hong Kyung Min, Go Yoo Jin, T-Max, and more! In total there were 13 teams of singers and the cherry on top was MC's Yuri, Sunny, and Seo Kyung Suk.
It was a pre-recorded show but it didn't fail in looking fresh and entertaining. Two teams would go against each other each round and the last one standing, the MVP, would win a gift card for shopping and Korean BBQ set.
Bada sang a cover of a song done originally by an Australian singer named Kylie Minogue, Chae Yeon sang Uhm Jung Hwa's "Invitation", F.T.Island was missing their frontman Hongki but they didn't disappoint when JaeJin sang "Hey Jude" by the Beatles, 4minute sang Diva's "Why are you calling me?", JunJin and Minwoo teamed up to sing a Michael Jackson classic, "Dangerous", and lastly Kimg Jong Suh sang a song by the famous band Queen.
After performances were completed by each team in a round, they would have to fill in the blanks to questions such as, "To become a star I _________." or "Something that changed about me after I became famous is that _________."
To this question Namolla Family's Kim Jae Woo said that at his audition to become a comedian he lied that his mother had died. He pretended to be doing the auditon for his mother. When asked how his mother passed away he said, "She sold her best cards in Go-Stop(Korean poker)." Then the judges told him that that kind of jokes were already done by Park Mi Sun.
I think you can see that this special was definitely a show to watch.
Here is the clip of JaeJin singing "Hey Jude".

Also check out 4minute singing their hit song "Muzik" as well as their cover of Diva's "Why are you calling me?".
For those that ever doubted FT Island's sheer skill with instruments, it's time for you to stop, take a listen, and be amazed. The boys recently filmed an episode of MBC's "Music Travel Lalala" and had the performance air today, where the boys showed their true musical prowess by taking former and current hits and managing to improve them even further.
The show is pretty well known for taking current hits of kpop and having artists perform a softer, more mellow rendition of a given hit, whether it be their own song or another artist's. Artists also have the chance to cover songs they most enjoy on the show as well. For this episode, FT Island perfomed a jazzy version of Yoo Jae Ha's hit "Because I Love You". Afterwards, a brief interview was taken, then it was back to the music with a soft rock version of their current hit single "I Hope." If you don't happen to enjoy mellow, but happen to love FT Island, you won't regret watching this! Enjoy the ear-candy.
First, F.T Island wanted people to save energy, now they're asking for blue skies and a clean city! The five member band recently released their latest campaign song on Inkigayo promoting the use of the subway for a cleaner city. Many of you aren't located in Korea but the subways in my opinion are a lot more efficient than driving around since there is so much traffic and it's actually cleaner than you probably expect of a public transportation. On top of that, they're extremely fun to ride in. Actually I'm not so sure about the second part but F.T Island makes it look exciting!
Just the other day we showed F.T. Island's Minhwanseeming to be a fanboy of girl group KARA. Now it seems he's a fanboy of 2NE1's Sandara Park. On August 21st the boys of F.T. Island had a VIP Interview with cable channel KBS Joy program "Entertainment News."
According to Star News, Minhwan revealed that 2NE1's Sandara Park has caught his eye. He also revealed that although he never talked to her before, he would like to go out and have some tea with her, which drew applause / clapping from his fellow members. Minhwan wasn't the only one revealing his fandom as Lee Hongki said that he really likes After School's Jooyeon, which prompted Jong hun to say that he likes Jooyeon as well. Unfortunately it doesn't say anything about Seung Hyun or Jae Jin, but it's pretty funny how these boys aren't shy to reveal their fanboyisms.
Rock idols FT Island will be gracing next month's issue of Marie Claire, sporting a rather sleek and debonair look.
Despite having to wake up extra early for this particular shoot, the boys were full of energy, even pulling jokes and bursting into laughter before pulling a 180 once the camera was ready to take their pictures. Always the professionals, the boys immediately dropped their lovable goofy personalities and rocked the shoot the best way they knew how. Check out some shots from the shoot! Cr. allkpop
No, F.T. Island's Minhwan didn't have a confession on a Variety show, but people say actions are louder than words... and here's an example of the former.
As Kara was finishing up their performance on August 13th's M! Countdown, F.T. Island was set to perform immediately after. However, Minhwan seemed to be more concentrated on KARA than his own performance. As F.T. Island's song started he was caught by surprise and immediately turned around with a shocked looked on his face. He started to play the drums, but he seemed like he couldn't get enough of Kara, because he looked back at them two more times... even as the performance began! It's pretty funny, check it out below (Thanks to melinda for the tip).
FT Island rarely gets to play their musical instruments LIVE, but they got a chance to do so at Kim Jung Eun's Chocolate. They made the best out of it, and it's obvious that they were enjoying themselves. Jong Hoon was especially into it during his guitar solo. The way he looked at his guitar and stroked it is enough for fangirls to search up the guitar's cyworld just to write rude comments on it.
The boys of FT Island had a mini concert on Kim Jung Eun's chocolate, and I stress min because they only played 2 songs. The first of which is their title song "I Hope", and the second is a cover of Blur's hit song "Song 2". Though as with any kpop English covers, you have to take caution of the liberal use of Engrish. Fortunately the show provide subtitles for the lyrics because Hongki's "and I'm pissing out needles" almost killed me.
Overall, it was a great performance, so check it out!
When faced with the question of how idols must handle their studies and careers, F.T. Island found it rather difficult to agree on a given answer.
Choi Jonghoon and Lee Hongki, the two members currently attending university, stated firmly that it is absolutely necessary to graduate from high school. Hongki went on to state, "It’ll be good if the school can help their students to realize their dreams. It’s not about instilling knowledge from the course books, it’s about helping each and every individual to realize their dreams through various forms of education.”
The high school youngins, however, had a very opposite opinion. Song Seunghyun, Choi Minhwan, and Lee Jaejin all agreed that it is best for idols to just give up their studies and work hard with their careers in the entertainment business. They stated there are several things that one learns when working in the entertainment industry that one does not learn in school. Sometimes the burden of maintaining studies gets in the way of doing their best in their careers, therefore they believe it's just best to do away with education altogether.
Lee Jaejin ended the interview by stating,“Things that we learn in high school are not being used practically. However, to realize your dream, you will still have to continue to do self-study.”
Many idols have dropped out of school or put their education on hold to focus on their careers, but several others have pushed through with their education despite being bogged down by their careers. In the end, it's the idols' choice as to whether or not they wish to continue with their education.
As they did with their M! Countdown comeback performance, F.T. Island performed their songs ‘Bing Bing Bing’ and ‘I Hope’ for their KBS2TV Music Bank comeback. F.T. Island performed a shortened version of their happy-go-lucky sounding song ‘Bing Bing Bing’ first, followed by the full version of ‘I Hope.’ Check it out.

In my opinion, I Hope sounds more like F.T. Island’s past songs and Bing Bing Bing sounds a little different from what they usually do. Fans of F.T. Island have even commented that it looks kind of weird seeing Hong Gi smiling on stage while singing when he performs Bing Bing Bing. Even though they enjoy seeing Hong Gi and the rest of the band smiling and happy on stage, F.T. Island fans are more accustomed to seeing Hong Gi sing sadder and/or serious songs that leave him and the whole band with a passionate or somber look on their faces. Either way Hong Gi is a great singer but I think his best performances are when he sings F.T. Island’s more angst ridden songs.
F.T. Island comes back on M! Countdown F.T. Island held their comeback stage at M! Countdown and it seems that their new song I Hope and Bing Bing Bing were rather well received. Then again, it is F.T. Island, so no big surprise there. No matter how many times they dye their hair, the skill is never lacking.
Check out their performance.

Singer BMK, Addicted To FT Island’s Charm
Following the release of their 3rd album, FT Island went on a live radio programme, “Seo Kyungseok’s Music Show“, together with singer BMK on 22nd July.
FT Island performed their 3rd album title song “Barae (I Hope)” and another song from their mini album “Magic“. BMK was impressed by Hongki’s good vocals even though he’s only 20. FT Island also cheered for BMK while she was performing. The atmosphere was great.
Lee Hongki also mentioned that he used to sing BMK’s “When Spring Comes” before FT Island’s debut. He also impressed everyone at the studio by singing this song live using the original key. Under the request of DJ Seo Kyungseok, without much delay, Hongki sang a short phrase of “When Spring Comes” and BMK was amazed. Hongki and BMK harmonised the last part of the song together and everyone in the studio applauded for them.
So far, FT Island have never had any duets with other singers and they wanted very much to sing with BMK whom they respect.
Meanwhile, FT Island is currently busy with their album promotions. They will be performing “Barae (I Hope)” and “Bing Bing Bing” on their comeback performance on M.net’s MCountdown today, 23rd July. There will also be a special stage by two members of FT Island, Lee Jaejin and Song Seunghyun. They will be performing Lee Seunggi’s “Will You Marry Me“.
F.T. Island Cover Lee Seung Gi’s “Will You Marry Me”
F.T. Island's guitarist and bassist, Song Seung Hyun, and Lee Jae Jin, respectively, covered Lee Seung Gi's newest single "Will You Marry Me" on M! Countdown. Although it would have been better if the original singer sang the song, these two attempted to make up for Lee Seung Gi's absence. I was not expecting much since no one can beat Lee Hongki's voice, however, I was pleasantly surprised by these two boys. It seems that Hongki was not the only one who could sing in F.T Island! No wonder Jae Jin was casted in the musical, "Sonagi" back in April.
Although pleasantly surprised, in the big picture, the performance wasn't outstanding - it was just pretty decent. Song Seung Hyun forgot the lyrics in the middle but, I have to say, his adorable smile just washed away his mistake! I hope to see these two boys singing more in the future and also Lee Seung Gi himself performing his song!
Enjoy:

Doesn't Song Seung Hyun kind of remind you of Lee Seung Gi?
A few days ago we showed the recently released photos of F.T. Island on their official website. With all the heavy editing of the pictures we couldn't really see their new image. But these new photos paint a clearer picture, check out the new pictures where you can clearly see them sport the new look. credit: yonhap news A/N: More time to kill ? Check out Hong ki´s interview
Armed with their rockin' new single and a creatively crafted MV, F.T. Island completed the beginning of their return to the spotlight with performances of "Marry Me" and their single "I Hope" on SBS Inkigayo today.
Here's the performance:
The Primadonna-backed quintet also did the customary comeback interview:
It's nice to see the boys again. But, because of F.T. Island's promotions, Hongki is going to have to step down as co-emcee of SBS Inkigayo, and many will miss the dorky personality that introduced epic performances from many of our favorite stars. It´s hard to not notice who cute they were and how close they are together at the ending of the show: It´s start at 1:05.
