T-ara Does TTL with Taegoon on Music Core

20090925_ttl_main

With Jihyuk, Kwangsu and Gunil away in Japan for their concert tour with the other Supernova members this weekend, Taegoon has been enlisted to take their places and perform TTL (Time to Love) with T-ara members, Eunjung, Soyeon, Hyomin and Jiyeon.

So how well did Taegoon do? Well, I would say that it was pretty good, and lucky of him to be able to perform with 4 hot girls on stage. This was a one-off special stage as the Supernova trio will return on Inkigayo tomorrow for their TTL performance with T-ara.

Future Plans for T-ara and Supernova’s TTL Promotions

20090925_ttl_main

TTL has been performed by Soyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin and Jiyeon from T-ara and Jihyuk, Kwangsu and Gunil from Supernova since it's release last week on the 15th. But It was reported on the 25th that solo singer, Taegoon will be joining T-ara on stage instead of the Supernova members for their TTL (Time to Love) performance on the 26th September episode of MBC's Music Core.

The reason for Supernova's absence is because they are currently busy with their Japanese promotions after releasing a Japanese single, kimi dake wo zutto on the 9th. In fact, Supernova is poised to perform live at a concert in Osaka today and in Tokyo on the 27th, leaving the boys with no choice but to leave the girls in Korea for the time being.

Jihyuk, Kwangsu and Gunil's spots will thus be taken by Taegoon as he will partner the 4 girls from T-ara for their TTL stage. Anticipation is high among fans, hoping to see a brand new stage and chemistry between them. This is in addition to Taegoon's performance for his new single, Betrayed.
20090925_ttl_1
And starting from October, all members of T-ara and Supernova, totaling 12 members will perform TTL together. Although this is a temporary merging of the groups, this is the first time in a long while that such a large mixed group is coming together for promotions. Fans are anticipating an even bubblier and livelier stage with 12 members instead of the original seven.

Taegoon does Rain’s “I do” for Countdown Heroes

20090924_taegoonido_572
Having just made his return recently with his 3rd mini album, Taegoon not only performed his title song, Betrayed on the 24th September episode of Mnet's M! Countdown but he also participated in the Countdown Heroes segment.

In the Countdown Heroes segment, Taegoon who has been often dubbed as 'the next Rain', did a shortened version of global star, Rain's 2004 hit song, I do which is unusual since most would choose to do covers of his more energetic dance tracks. Besides doing a competent job with the song, Taegoon also had a short dance break at the end. Check it out.

Who’s the Man? Rain is!

20090922_rainistheman_572

A fan recently put together the male celebrities who have been quoted to look up to Korea's top singer, Rain. Rain has really made his way up from the bottom. Now he is starring in the soon to be released movie, Ninja Assassin. Since he can easily be called one of the most famous people in Korea, it's no surprise that he has so many followers (no, not on Twitter.) From singers to actors, they've all names Rain someone they model themselves after.

He is a role model for so many young boys and girls and even the stars. Check out the male celebrities who have admitted their respect for Rain:

Jung Il Woo
"He's at the top but he's still so nice and polite. I look up to that. He can act and sing and I wish I could be good at everything like him. I can't sing or dance but I want to work as hard he does with my acting and be like him."

ChanSung of 2PM
"I've always liked Rain hyung but when I joined JYP and saw him work I really respected him and looked up to him. I realized his job is not something that happens overnight. He works so hard to be where he is."

TaeMin of SHINee
"I liked Rain sunbaenim before debut. My rolemodel is Rain sunbae. When I auditioned, I sang his song."

LeeTeuk of Super Junior
"I always monitor Rain subaenim's TV appearances. I learn from them. My favorite song is Only You from his 5th album. I also monitored his comeback performance last time."

Kim Hyun Joong of SS501
"I actually bought Rain sunbaenim's concert DVD with my own money. I always watch if after everyday even if I come home late. I learn so much from it."

ChungLim
In an interview...
Q)Who's your rolemodel as a singer?
A)In Korea, I love Rain subaenim. I memorize his schedule sometimes because I love him so much. I always listen to him so I feel like my voice tone is becoming a bit like his. People say I remind them of him and that is such an honor.

AJ
"When I became a trainee through JYP, I auditioned because of Rain sunbaenim. I learned how to be on stage. He's my sunbae but also my teacher. I modeled myself after him and studied. When people tell me I'm a mini version of Rain, it's such an honor. I'd rather hear that than 'He copies Rain.' Now that I've followed after him, I want to create my own style too."

TaeGoon
"He's an amazingly talented person. I realized how amazing he really is when I went on stage myself. Thank you for comparing me to him but I can't just stop there. I have to keep working hard to be myself. I haven't met him yet but one day I want to perform with him."

Park Tae Hwan
He picked Rain as the star he looks up to.
"He really knows how to work hard and I look up to him. I don't just like him, I respect him"

After School and Taegoon Dress To Kill

20090921_astg_1

As reported earlier, female idol group After School had joined existing model, Taegoon as models for fashion apparel, Dressed to Kill!

New pictures of Park Gahee, UEE and Taegoon from the photoshoot have been released and, boy, are they a sight to behold! If you take a look at the pictures yourself, you will understand why the sexy six were appropriate candidates to advertise the Fall/Winter collection for 2009 with Taegoon. Even without revealing any skin, they rocked the modern, sultry look in smokey eye make-up and wavy hair like true "diva diva di-di-di-di-divas".

I, for one, am baffled by how beautifully sculpted their legs are. What could their secret to long legs possibly be? Contrary to popular belief, dairy intake is not the answer; trust me, I would know. It was recently that I discovered chugging massive amounts of milk three times a day for God-knows-how-many-years will only induce painful bowel movements after five minutes of consummation, forcing me to stay within running distance of a toilet at all times. Needless to say, it gave me a whole new meaning to After School's "Ah".

On a serious note, fans have much to anticipate as After School will be making a comeback this October. Who's excited?

Taegoon Returns to the Stage with “Betrayed”

20090917_taegoonmvrlsed_572

Today's Inkigayo stage was rich with great performers, but many eyes were focused on the return of Taegoon with his new song "Betrayed"! Many fans were raving about his comeback stage on Music Bank, and this follow-up on Inkigayo was equally enjoyable.

With a purple backdrop and full set of backup dancers, Taegoon delivered an awesome show for fans and nonfans alike. Though his singing was subpart, Taegoon really showed off his dance talent with the spiffy choreography for this song.

With his associations with big names like Jaejoong and Wheesung in the past, many have anticipated this song to get a taste of Taegoon's true flavor. What do you think, sweet or sour?

Taegoon’s Betrayed On Music Bank

20090918_taegoonmubankcmbk_572

After dancing nonstop for about a week in front of his car, Taegoon is at last ready to move on. He finally had his first comeback stage for "Betrayed" on Music Bank today.

I personally thought he did pretty good for his comeback performance, but then again, it could just be that I am biased because I too was betrayed and I too danced in front of my car nonstop for a week.

Taegoon Danced Away His Pain in His New Music Video!

20090917_taegoonmvrlsed_572
A good copy of the music video for Taegoon's comeback song "Betrayed" has finally surfaced. The song definitely grows on you, and any music video that features a good looking female lead like After School's Joo Yeon is bound to be awesome by default.

It seems that basic story line here is that Taegoon’s character is betrayed by the girl, and all he could do is dance away the pain.

Taegoon Gets Leaked!

20090916_taegoon3rdminialbumleak_572

With his comeback stage drawing near, it comes as no surprise that solo artist Taegoon has had his 3rd mini album leaked one day prior to its release! Take a listen to the entire mini album here, but as always, support the artist by purchasing their album! While you're at it, check out the full MV for his comeback single!

1. "The Beginning"
featuring Hoo Ni Hoon, Su-en - This is the first track of the mini album and I love the beat! Not much can be heard from Taegoon himself as the featured artists shine like no other! It's a shame the song is less than 2 minutes.

cr. TAEGUN293

2. "Betrayed" with narration from Lee Yo Won - Go figure his comeback track had some auto-tune. This should not be surprising as the same person who produced 2PM's "I Hate You" had produced this track as well. While not as catchy as "I Hate You", it has the potential to get stuck in your head for long bouts of time with it's repetitive patterns. The MV is rather generic, but if you're a fan of either Taegoon or After School's Joo Yeon, you'll most likely enjoy what you see.

cr. urasiansourceKpop

3. "Tell Me" - No guys, not the Wonder Girls. The song is mellowed out compared to the previous tracks, but at least toned down on the autotune. It's very refreshing in comparison to all the rest.

4. "Finally" - Another upbeat dance track with a side of tolerable Engrish! Though, I do find his voice sounding a wee bit nasally during the "finally" part. The verses are rather bland, but the song really grabs you by the hook!

5. "Step by Step" - The final track of the mini album and low and behold, it's another dance track!

Altogether, the album was not too bad, but it would have been nice to hear a little more variety. With a mini album, it's terribly difficult to cater to everyone's desires with such minimal songs, but Taegoon did a pretty admirable job with his 3rd project! If you liked what you hear, you'll be excited to see him perform on September 19th on MBC's Music Core!

Taegoon’s “Betrayed” MV Teaser Released

20090914_taebteaser_572
Aaaand the MV teaser for Taegoon's "Betrayed" is out! Many fans have been anticipating the star's second comeback of 2009 and return to Korea, and though some were initially disappointed by the choice of a third mini album instead of a full album, it seems like this five-track album is still enough to get people talking. This MV teaser, which features Jooyeon of After School, is only generating more interest and curiosity as to what Taegoon has in store for us!

Seeing how his fame was launched by his association with Jaejoong back in January with "Call Me", then Wheesung in "Superstar", it'll be intriguing to see how this so-called second Rain (a title claimed by many artists these days, mind you) will fare on his own with this single. And on the same vein, it's great to see an After School member that isn't UEE with some solo projects!

As for the teaser itself, we've got the obligatory girl (Jooyeon) in the car, a crestfallen Taegoon in a parking lot & bathtub, pretty cinematography with lights and dramatic smoke etc... in other words, nothing mindblowingly original. Not gonna lie though, the choreography made me do a double take - Taegoon's dance following the 0:20 jacket strip would make Jo Kwon and his infamous Wa dance proud. I wish I were that flexible!

So what do you think, is this a flop or is Taegoon really a Rain in the making?

Look forward to Taegoon's album release & comeback stage at the end of this week!

The composer of 2PM's 'I Hate You' composed Taegoon's new hip hop/house title track 'Betrayed'. Taegoon told the press that the song is about a man being betrayed in love, and that the chorus is very powerful and addictive. After School's Lee Joo Yeon will star in the MV for Betrayed.

In this recent shoot for the clothing line Dressed 2 Kill, Taegoon shows his simple, yet fashionable, clothing from the company, giving his fans an eyeful while he's away.
