Goo Hara, Seungri and Minzy are childhood friends?

20091011_Goo_Hara,_Seungri_and_Minzy_are_best_friends_572
In recent recording of SBS Kang Shim Jang, it was revealed that KARA's Goo Hara, Big Bang's Seungri, and 2NE1's Minzy were all friends when they were young.

Goo Hara reportedly expressed, "I have been watching 2NE1's Minzy ever since she was young. ... Big Bang's Seungri is our family as well." Her comment roused much curiosity in the rest of the cast.

It was then revealed that Goo Hara and Seungri used to be in the same dance school in their hometown, KwangJoo, before their debut. Minzy, as well as the two, was in the same school as well.

Wow, isn't this interesting? Stay tuned to the broadcast on the 13th, as it will also reveal stories about many guests, including Goo Hara and fellow member Nicole's dorm life and misunderstandings this duo used to have.

KARA Excited for Cameo on MBC’s “Hero”

20091011_karahero_572
Although many will be disappointed when "Heading to the Ground" ends next month, it looks like MBC is continuing its idol line-up - though TVXQ's Yunho will be exiting the big screen, the new drama "Hero" is set to feature the ladies of KARA in its first episode!

As reported earlier, it was announced on the 9th that this quintet of cuties would make a cameo in the first episode as the stars of a mini-concert at which the leads of the drama, Lee Junki (a reporter) and Kim Min Jung (a police detective), will first meet.

It’s an honor for us to start off this drama together with Lee Junki and Kim Min-jung, who are actors we have always liked," the members of KARA expressed. "We’re already excited just thinking about filming, and are really looking forward to it. It feels exciting to be able to show a different side of KARA in the drama.

With names like Lee Junki, Kim Min Jung and now KARA, this is shaping up to be a solid & highly anticipated drama. Indeed, "Hero" was licensed for a Japanese broadcast nearly a year ago, way before its license for Korea. As one source explained on Friday, such licensing is not finalized until 2-4 episodes have aired due to economic considerations and other factors. “However, in Hero’s case, recognition of the solid synopsis and lead actor Lee Junki has led to an unusual circumstance of an early sale at a high price.

Keep an eye out for the first broadcast of "Hero" on November 18 on MBC.

Girl Group Idols Go The Simple Life

20091009_g7_main
Whether you have watched it or not, I'm sure you have all heard of the FOX reality show, "The Simple Life", starring popular socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

If you haven't heard of the show, or if you don't know what it's about, I'll break it down for you all real simple: Two girls live on a farm and do manual labor. It's not just that but that's a real simplified version of it.

KBS2TV is adapting the American reality show and creating Invincible Youth (forget Heroine 6 or 1N2D references). They'll be spinning things up a little by not making it 2 pretty faces working hard on camera but instead there will be 7 girls from several different popular idol groups and thus forming the G7 (Girl 7). G7 will consist of SNSD's Yuri and Sunny, Kara's Goo Hara, Brown Eyed Girls' Narsha, 4minute's HyunA, T-ara's Hyomin, and Secret's Han Sunhwa.

PD Kim Sang Ho said that the show will bring the 7 girls out into the rural areas of Korea where they will endure hardship and manual labor, making this a totally different reality "trip" show from other reality shows like 1N2D and Family Outting, for we will watch the girls build character and mature through their experiences.

Whose Ass Did SNSD’s Sunny Whoop?

snsd
Aside from the plethora of performances held during MBC's Star Dance Battle Change on the 4th, the special broadcasting for the Chuseok holiday also featured a heated wrestling battle between various female idols who were divided into two teams.

First up was Sunny for the red team while UEE represented the blue.

Proving that her short and petite size is not to be underestimated, SNSD's "Aegyo Queen" put up quite a fight against After School's "Honey Thighs" and even defeated her in a matter of minutes.

Sunny advanced to the next round, which ended up lasting longer than the first, against Jewelry's leader Park Jung Ah. As the length of the match prolonged, MC Shin Jung Hwan joked, "At this rate, we will enter next year's Chuseok!", creating laughter from the audience.

In the end, Park Jung Ah lost her balance, which Sunny quickly took advantage of.

In the final and most anticipated round, Sunny and madwoman Yoo Chae Young went head-to-head in an intense match that forced spectators to get up from their seats to watch. Even in the face of her sunbae, Sunny was determined to win and refused to show any mercy.

Watch the video to see who came out victorious.

From Kara's Goo Hara to SNSD's Sunny, it can arguably be assumed that the smallest members of some female groups have a hidden strength that can be alarmingly intimidating when unleashed. I guess you really can't judge a book by its cover, especially the children's novels.

1N2D Girl Version?

20091005_girls1n2d_main
Earlier on, we reported on a new variety show based around our favorite girl group members. Now, we have more updates regarding the show which looks to be a blast.

It has been decided that for this new variety show airing on Friday nights, it will be based upon the hit variety show, 1N2D, rather than Heroine 6 as we had earlier reported.

During a phone conversation with the production team, it was revealed, "The final members of Invincible Youth are Yuri, Sunny (SNSD), Goo Hara (KARA), Hyuna (4Minute), Narsha (Brown Eyed Girls), HyoMin (T-ara) and Han Sunhwa (Secret)”.

The MC's for this show will be comedian Nam Hee Suk, actor Noh Joo Hyun, and singer Kim Tae Woo, with the talks of female comedian Kim Shin Young still in the works. Just by the representative(s) from each girl group, I can tell that this show is going to be huge! Watching our favorite girl group members, surviving in a variety show with a 1N1D atmosphere, is something I cannot miss!

Popular girl group, Kara who has been winning the hearts of many recently with their sexy butt dance, turns themselves into girls from the motown 60s, as they performed Nobody. Kara received great praise for putting on a wonderful performance despite their recent busy schedule. Certainly brings back the memories and please bring the Wonder Girls back from America!

Kara’s Show and Tell on Idol Big Show

20091003_karadorm_400
Overdue, but surely not forgotten, another group left their impression on the masses during SBS's Idol Big Show. Guess who! If you guessed the lovable girls of Kara then give yourself a high five.

These lovely ladies kicked off their series of awesome appearances with a a video revealing their morning look at 8AM. Though it was not exactly the most flattering side to see, the girls were good sports and even greeted the cameras "Good morning!" in English. Playing along with Hara, the trouble maker who brought the cameras inside their dorms, as they awoke from their slumber, the girls went about their usual morning routine, from getting dressed to chowing down on a homemade breakfast courtesy of leader Gyuri. Even though they were all natural and extremely worn from their excruciating schedules, the girls took the time to comically bid their maknae Jiyoung farewell as she left for school. The revealing video ended with the remaining four members of Kara goofing off and dancing to various popular songs like 4Minute's "Muzik" and Brown Eyed Girls "Abracadabra."

The girls continued to show their dorky and cuter sides in an interview they held with the man of the hour, G-Dragon. After the series of questions were answered, the highlight of the interview was shown: G-Dragon got schooled by Kara on their famous "butt dance."

Now let's get to the part that everyone's been waiting for: the performances! The ladies kicked off the show, trotting it up with their covers of Jang Yoon Jung's "Oh My!" and Kim Hae Yeon's "It's a Snake." Stay tuned for a twist on their epic butt dance at the very end as well!

cr. JayGregory100

Perhaps the biggest treat was their final performance for the show special. Nicole and Hara heated up the stage with a sexy chest poppin', hip groovin' number to Madonna's "Music." As the sexy duo got down and dirty, the trio consisting of Jiyoung, Gyuri, and Seungyeon stole the show with their hip hop moves to Wreckx's "Rump Shaker." Finally, the girls come together to finish up their sexy performance to Ciara and Missy Elliot's "Work." What made this particular performance so special to kamilia was that it was very reminiscent of Kara's "Break It" days, when they had a very strong and sexy concept with equally powerful dance moves. After several singles where the concept was nothing but overwhelming cuteness, Kara shows how versatile they really are in the entertainment field.

Kara Does Mister in Striking White Backdrop

20090926_karamister_572
You might be wondering what's so special about this Mister performance by Kara that warrants an article? Yes, it's the same song, same butt shaking dance, same outfits but what really caught the eye was the special white backdrop on the 26th September episode of MBC's Music Core when Kara took to the stage and close out the show.

The unique striking white background meant that Kara really stood out in the performance, especially as they were wearing bright red pants. It made out Kara to be like goddesses from heavens, bathed in white light and shaking their butts. That effect was particularly magnified when the girls started shaking their butts to the beat.

Kara and f(x) Chilling Out

20090920_karafx_main
Remember our earlier stories about Kara and f(x) being very close friends and Amber's friendship with Nicole?

Well, we got some more pictures proving Kara and F(x)'s friendship. Thanks to our reader, allNice, who shared some photos validating the close relationship between girl groups Kara and f(x) with us.

Pictures of the two girl groups posing for the camera backstage on the 13th September episode of Inkigayo have been revealed, and despite their music rivaling each other on the charts, the girls really are close!

I guess it's nice to see two girl groups of different entertainment companies getting along, rather than pulling each other's hairs out for first place. But at the same time, it would be nice to have some more rivalry, competition, and hair pulling. At least that'll keep our minds off the curse of September for our lovely boy idols.
